His Excellency Minister of Finance Mr. Salem Saleh Bin Breik, and the Head of the Customs Authority, Mr. Abdul Hakim Radman Al-Qubati, inaugurated the new building of the Aden International Airport Customs (Freight), which is equipped with the latest equipment to implement customs procedures in accordance with the Customs Law and to deal with all shipments arriving through the airport.
The system for disclosing cash payments in co-ordination with the Central Bank of Yemen’s money laundering unit was also inaugurated today.
His Excellency the Minister of Finance held an extensive meeting with customs officials and some representatives of security agencies at Aden airport, praising the opening of the building and the reintroduction of the disclosure system as applied in all airports around the world.
Ben Brik urged customs officials and representatives of security agencies working at the airport to exert maximum efforts and coordinate to improve performance, raise vigilance, investigate cargo and travelers through the airport, and work in accordance with the law in force. Customs employees are the first line of protection inside the airport, according to their legally authorized powers.
Deputy Customs Authority Dr. Mohammed Al-Dahni, Director General of Aden International Airport Abdul Raqeeb Al-Omari, and a number of security leaders, general managers, and customs employees participated in the inauguration.
