Minister of Finance hands over customs economic operator certificates to 4 new operators

The Minister of Finance, Salem bin Breik, handed over, today in the interim capital Aden, the certificates of accredited economic operator, granted by the Customs Authority, to four new operators from commercial and industrial groups.

The four new operators include the National Cigarette and Sulphur Factory, National Cement Factory, Hail Saeed Anem Group, Mukalla Result Company, Bajrash Trading Group, and Hadramawt Mills, Bin Halabi Group for Trade and Industry, bringing the total number of commercial and industrial institutions and companies that have obtained the Certified Economic Operator certificate in the past 5 years to 19 commercial and industrial institutions and companies.

This came during Minister Ben Brik’s meeting with commercial and industrial groups that have obtained the Certified Economic Operator certificate, in the presence of Abdulhakim Al-Qabati, head of the Customs Authority, Mohammed Dahni, and Hamed Al-Shatri, director general of auditing at the authority.

Minister of Finance Ben Brik congratulated the commercial and industrial groups for obtaining this accredited certificate, as it is an honor for them and strengthens the partnership between the government and the commercial and industrial sector. He called on all commercial and industrial groups, institutions and companies to follow the example of the groups that have obtained the Certified Economic Operator Certificate because it has many advantages that serve the private sector.

For his part, Head of the Customs Authority Al-Qabati emphasized the importance of commercial and industrial groups obtaining the Economic Operator Certificate. He reviewed the advantages of the certificate, which was launched by the Customs Authority in mid-2019 to give confidence to reliable traders who are committed to customs legislation and regulations, and to facilitate trade.
