Aden – Saba

Today, in the interim capital, Aden, an awareness workshop was held on the Trade Facilitation Agreement and the role of the National Trade Facilitation Committee in implementing it, in cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Economic Recovery Program.

The workshop aimed to raise participants’ awareness of the trade facilitation agreement and the role of the national committee in coordinating and supervising the implementation of the provisions of the agreement and trade facilitation reforms.

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Chairman of the National Committee for Trade Facilitation, Muhammad Al-Ashwal, stressed the importance of holding this workshop in particular, as the country is going through an exceptional phase. He indicated that the agreement will be discussed and approved at the next meeting of the committee and submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval and signing in Geneva to enter into force.

The Minister explained that the concept of facilitating trade is based on serving merchants and preserving the livelihood of citizens in the country
