Customs Authority chief meets with World Food Program office manager

The head of the Customs Authority, Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Qubati, met today at the Customs Authority office in the interim capital Aden with the director of the United Nations World Food Program office in Aden, Ms. Leila Ahadi, and her accompanying staff.
During the meeting, Al-Qubati stressed the keenness of the Customs Authority to overcome the difficulties that hinder the work of all international organizations operating in the country, including the World Food Program, based on the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak and Minister of Finance Mr. Salem Saleh bin Breik to provide all possible facilities for the release of food shipments arriving at customs ports, in accordance with the customs law, stressing his keenness to enhance aspects of cooperation and joint coordination with the program, especially in the aspect of customs exemptions.
He praised the humanitarian role played by the World Food Program in Yemen as a key partner to support government efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of citizens, especially in light of the war conditions and the challenges faced by the country. At the end of the meeting, Al-Qubati renewed his welcome to Ms. Laila Ahadi, wishing her success in her new mission in Yemen.
For her part, Mrs. Leila Ahadi praised the cooperation of the Customs Authority in overcoming the difficulties facing the World Food Program by releasing relief shipments, whether food or fuel, praising the great role played by Customs in providing all possible facilities. Ahadi expressed her happiness for this introductory meeting, which is her first with the leadership of the Customs Authority since she assumed responsibility for managing the World Food Program office in Aden, stressing that the program continues to provide all support and relief assistance to the Yemeni people in several fields and to all governorates of the Republic.
The meeting was attended by Abdullah Saleh Al-Habashi, Undersecretary of the Department of Customs for Technical Affairs, Morsi Saeed Baghouza, Director General of Exemptions and Temporary Entry, and M. Jalal Al-Afouri, Director General of Radiology and Automated Inspection, and on the UNDP side, Jamal Al-Majali, Government Relations Officer, and Alawi Al-Hasani, Supply and Shipping Officer.
